During a recent media interaction, he revealed that he had played Bebamma’s father in Uppena and subsequently signed on for a Tamil film. In the new Tamil project, the production team considered Krithi Shetty for the role of the heroine.
Upon receiving Krithi Shetty’s photo, Vijay Sethupathi promptly contacted the team and explained that he had portrayed her father in a recent Telugu film. Uncomfortable with the idea of a romantic pairing after that familial role, he requested they explore alternative casting choices.
While shooting the climax of Uppena, Vijay Sethupathi noticed Krithi Shetty’s uncertainty in a scene they were working on together. In a supportive gesture, he shared words of encouragement, saying, “I have a son as old as you. You are like a daughter to me. Perform the scene confidently.”
