Recently, their films Veerasimha Reddy and Walter Veeraya both succeeded at the box office during Sankranti, sparking excitement among fans.
Meanwhile, in one of the recent interviews, Chiranjeevi openly expressed his admiration for one of Balakrishna’s films. Talking in an interview Chiranjeevi said he loves Balakrishna’s Samarasimha Reddy, directed by B. Gopal. This 1992 blockbuster was a significant hit breaking numerous records and setting new benchmarks in Telugu cinema. Chiranjeevi has mentioned in interviews that he has watched Samarasimha Reddy multiple times and still enjoys it. He credits the film with rejuvenating Balakrishna’s career and notes its impact on the industry particularly with its intense faction drama.
Samarasimha Reddy was a huge success, earning around 17 crore rupees and setting a record for the longest theatrical run at the time. As both Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna continue to work on new projects—Chiranjeevi with Vishwambhara and Balakrishna with his 109th film directed by Bobby—there is anticipation for their upcoming releases, especially with another potential clash at the next Sankranti.
