Telangana BJP leader DK Aruna will undertake a two-day fast demanding liquor ban in the state stating that as the main reason for growing crime against women. The fast “Mahila Sankalpa Deeksha” will take place at Indira Park on December 12 and 13.
Addressing media she said, “The perpetrators of crime against women including the Disha case were found to be under the influence of alcohol,” she observed. The former minister said such a step was necessary to check the increasing number of crimes against women in the state. Following the recent gruesome gang-rape and murder of a woman veterinarian in Hyderabad, both BJP and Congress have targeted the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government for the unrestrained sale of liquor in the state.
