DJ Tillu is one film that the youth has drawn towards ever since the trailers were out. The film has been released today and, read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.
Plot
Tillu(Siddhu Jonnalagadda) is a local DJ who thinks of himself as the next big thing in music. To his luck, he crosses paths with a girl named Radhika(Neha Shetty) and enters a relationship with her. On Tillu’s birthday, he goes to woo Radhika but gets involved in the murder of her ex. How will he get out of this tricky situation is the story of DJ Tilli.
Performances
DJ Tillu is owned by Siddhu Jonnalagadda in a big way. The manner in which he performs leaves the audience in splits. It has been quite some time since we have seen such a fun character who mouths the Telangana accent. Whatever Siddhu does will leave you in splits. Neha Shetty is also very good in her role. She looks hot, does her role convincingly, and is an actress to watch out for. Brahmaji and Prince are also neat in their roles. The actor who played the hero’s dad was also very good.
Analysis
The moment you watch the promo, you clearly understand that the film has no logic and is made only for fun. The same happens in the entire film as the logic goes for a toss and only comedy is highlighted by the director.
The first half is filled with good comedy and Siddhu is enough to bring the house down on fire. Even in tense murder situations, he creates a fun drama thanks to his lingo. The chemistry between Neha and Tillu is very good and they as a pair evoke good energy.
The music is very good and the songs also do not disturb the flow. Thaman gives the scenes a very good high with the BGM. The film is not sheer of drawbacks as there is no story in the second half. The director Vimal did not have much to showcase and depended on Siddhu and his histrionics to bail out the film.
Whatever is said and done, DJ Tillu is a film that should not be watched for the content. Instead, it is a kind of comedy that will be enjoyed with friends. As the audience is frustrated with the lack of entertainment, this film will surely click at the box office.
Bottom Line – Silly but very funny
