Casting Calls: Swindlers should have a virtue 

The glitz and glamour industry has always been enticing young people who aspire to see themselves on screen, hog the limelight and become cynosure of the showbiz one day. However with many young budding artiste waiting for an opportunity to get a chance in the movie has become an excruciating task to find the right contact person. Given this, this has also sprung up conman to encash it as an opportunity by FAKE CASTING CALLS  luring ‘desperate’ gullible people who wants to make it big on the silver screen. Even in the times of COVID, the scamsaters are preying for the victims and luring people especially young women out there on the pretext of movie offers.

In such instance, Tollywood director Ajay Bhupathi’s name was used by a swindler to trap women in the name of casting calls and extort money. The director has approached Cyber Crime sleuths seeking action against impostors. A letter of his statement is viral on social media asking people not fell prey for such fraudsters.

Shame on Swindlers

The instance of Ajay Bhupathi is not the first case in Tollywood. It has been persistent for a long time. While the budding aspirants should be careful and take precautions for not falling prey for such fake casting calls, but the scamsters should also have a virtue in themselves and not CHEAT gullible artistes. Lesson the fraudsters should get is eventually they would get arrested for their wrong doing but one should live a life of dignity and eke out a living with righteousness.

With such fake casting calls, they not only kill the dreams of many upcoming artistes who come from a small town but mar the image of Tollywood with many raising their apprehensions about the safety in industry as well.
