Recently, there was talk about a big producer considering Chiranjeevi for a new project, but it seems like things have taken a different turn because of his remuneration.
A few days ago, Dil Raju was almost ready to start a project with Chiranjeevi, directed by Anil Ravipudi. They had discussions about the story, and Chiranjeevi showed interest in the project. The plan was to begin shooting for this film alongside Vishwambhara later this year.
Anil Ravipudi is known for making entertaining movies and handling hero elevation scenes skillfully. He showcased this talent recently with Balakrishna’s Bhagavath Kesari, proving he can portray a senior hero in a different character while keeping the mass appeal.
However, it seems like there’s a hurdle in the way of this project. The discussions about Chiranjeevi’s pay have become a roadblock, especially with OTT and satellite rights not fetching as much money as before. The estimated budget for the movie is around 170 crores if Chiranjeevi is the main lead. Due to the perceived risk, Dil Raju has decided to step back from this project.
Now, according to reports, Dil Raju has chosen to change the lead actor and has approached Venkatesh for the role. Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi have previously worked together successfully. This time, they plan to feature Venkatesh as the solo hero in a clean family entertainer. An official announcement is expected soon, and Dil Raju might be aiming for a Sankranthi 2025 release for this movie.
