Ponniyin Selvan is Mani Ratnam’s most prestigious film of his career. The first part was released last Friday with solid hype. But the talk to the film has been negative.
But the audience has still given a thumbs up to the film as the occupancy is quite good. The Telugu version of Ponniyin Selvan 1 featuring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Trisha and Jayam Ravi has collected nearly ₹7.5+ crore share from the Telugu box office.
These are impressive numbers and give the idea that the audience are interested in seeing the film on the big screen. In Tamil the film is doing smashing business at the box office.
