Times have changed and now the audience has access to films in multiple languages. In such a time, there are actors from other regions whom the audience love. Tamil heroes are the ones who are considered big in Telugu states. So many big stars have made merry but one big who did not have much craze was Thalapathy Vijay. He did not have much craze as his films were not like that much in the last ten years. 
But in the last two years or so, things have changed and all Vijay films are getting good collections. The fans for his films are increasing which was proved with the release of Master that is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. For some reason, this film had a massive release, and thanks to Vijay Sethupathi, who is a bigger star than Vijay here, the film had to open well. 
The promos and songs also helped the film well. The film was bought by Mahesh S Koneru for 8 crores and had his own release in Nizam. The first day collections were good but the film received a bad talk. But the star power of Vijay Sethupathi and Vijay helped the film. As it was Sankranthi, the audience flocked the theatres. The film has now made a share of 12 crores in Telugu states and is entering blockbuster status. 
There was also not much promotion for the film but the sheer star power and holidays helped this film. The film’s run has come to an end mostly but the distributors are safe and some have also seen solid profits which is a good thing to see for a Tamil film. So, Vijay’s market has increased in Telugu states, and Vijay Sethupathi has become an even bigger star.
