Dasara releases 2024:
As the Dasara festival approaches, the box office in Telugu states is witnessing a flurry of releases. Dasara is traditionally seen as a prime time for movies to make their mark, with audiences flocking to theaters. This year, six films are scheduled to hit the screens during the festival weekend.
Among the films, superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan stands out, enjoying massive anticipation and hype. The other releases, which include Gopichand and Sreenu Vaitla’s Viswam, Sudheer Babu’s Ma Nanna Superhero, Suhas’s Janaka Aithe Ganaka, Alia Bhatt’s dubbed movie Jigra, and the Kannada dubbed film Martin, are also aiming for a slice of the box office pie.
Despite the crowded schedule, Vettaiyan seems to be the only film generating significant buzz. Sreenu Vaitla is hoping to revive his career with Viswam, but the film has not captured much interest yet. Gopichand is also facing challenges, as his recent films haven’t performed well. Sudheer Babu is similarly in need of a hit.
Suhas’s film, however, has shown promise with an impressive trailer, and it could do well if it gets positive word of mouth. As for the other dubbed films, they may struggle to stay in theaters for long. The real winner of the festival season will be determined by audience reception, but if none of these films perform well, Devara could stand to benefit as a strong contender for later viewership.
