Just not Kamaal R Khan, even Salim Khan who is the hero’s father had come out in the open and said he isn’t impressed by the actor’s latest outing, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. He, however, said he liked the actor’s earlier work Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Talking to a newspaper, Salim Khan said Bajrangi Bhaijaan was a good and totally different movie and Dabangg 3 too was a different movie. Observing that Radhe is not a great film at all, Salim Khan said Salman Khan, however, has done well when it comes to the business aspect of the film as everyone involved in the movie, from producers to exhibitors, have made money. This is what keeps the cycle of cinema making and business going, he said. He said the film was beneficial to the stakeholders, but otherwise it wasn’t a great film.
He lamented the fact that Hindi cinema lacks good writers, and added that most writers merely try to ape Western projects. Salim Khan observed that Zanjeer was a movie that brought Hindi cinema back to the right track, but since then, the industry hasn’t found a replacement for Salim-Javed. In such situation, what can Salman Khan do, he asked.Radhe had a multi-format release in select theatres and simultaneously on the streaming platform ZEE5 with ZEE’s pay per view service ZEEPlex and on DTH services at Rs 249 on May 13 on the festival of Eid.
