However, a controversy arose during the film’s release celebrations. Some fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna sacrificed a goat at a theater in Tirupati. This act was condemned by animal rights organization PETA India. PETA filed a complaint under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Tirupati police registered an FIR against five individuals involved in the incident.

Saloni Sakaria, PETA’s cruelty response coordinator, criticized the act. She stated that killing an animal does not show true fandom. Instead, she encouraged fans to celebrate stars with tickets and social media support.

On the box office front, Daaku Maharaaj continues to perform well. On Day 6 (Friday), the film earned ₹2.6 crore as per early reports. The total India net collection has reached ₹69 crore. It is expected to cross ₹70 crore by the end of the day.
