Cult classics that Ram Charan turned down

Mega Power Star Ram Charan is one of the most popular actors in Telugu cinema. However, not every movie offered to him made it to his filmography. Over the years, he has rejected several films that later became cult classics. Some of these movies brought immense success to other actors, making fans wonder what could have been if Ram Charan had starred in them.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, OK Bangaram became a huge success in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The director initially narrated the story to Ram Charan, but he rejected it due to the lack of mass elements. The role later went to Dulquer Salmaan and the film became a classic love story.

Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Surya S/O Krishnan was another film that came to Ram Charan. At the time, Gautham had delivered back-to-back flops, leading Ram Charan to turn down the offer. The film starring Suriya turned out to be a massive hit and is now considered one of the finest films in South Indian cinema.

After the failure of Orange, Ram Charan became cautious about romantic films. He rejected Eto Vellipoyindi Manasu, which starred Nani and Samantha. The film later gained appreciation for its emotional depth and beautiful storytelling.

Director Karunakaran approached Ram Charan for Darling but the actor had already committed to Orange at the time. The film eventually went to Prabhas and became a major success.

Every actor has movies they regret rejecting, and Ram Charan is no exception. Though he has built a strong career with action-packed films fans often wonder how his career might have evolved had he chosen these cult classics.
