Committee Kurrollu review and rating:
Committee Kurrollu directed by Yadhu Vamsi, marks the debut of Niharika Konidela as a movie producer. Released amid decent anticipation, the film tells the story of a group of friends from a quaint village. But does it live up to expectations?
Story:
The story revolves around Shiva (Sandeep Saroj), Surya (Yaswanth Pendyala), Subbu (Thrinadh Varma) and their friends in the serene village of Purushothapalli. Their unbreakable bond is tested when an unexpected conflict arises throwing the entire village into turmoil. As the friends struggle with their differences the village’s peace and culture hang in the balance. The narrative explores what caused this fallout, its impact on the village, and whether the friends can mend their relationship.
Performances and Technical Aspects:
The performances by Sandeep Saroj, Thrinadh Varma, Yaswanth Pendyala, and Prasad Behara are commendable, adding some depth to the otherwise predictable plot. The supporting cast, including Kishore Kumar Polimera and Sai Kumar also delivers solid performances.
Technically, the film is a mixed bag. Anudeep Dev’s music is catchy with a few memorable tracks, while Edurolu Raju’s cinematography beautifully captures the essence of village life. However, the editing by Anwar Ali could have been more precise, as the film’s pacing suffers, especially in the second half. The production values are commendable, though the script and direction by Yadhu Vamsi leave much to be desired.
Analysis:
While “Committee Kurrollu” attempts to be a fun, nostalgic ride, it ultimately falls into the trap of routine storytelling. The first half is entertaining, filled with humorous and nostalgic moments. However, the film loses steam in the second half where the story becomes dull and the pacing drags.
The conflict which is central to the plot feels forced and lacks emotional depth. Even the climax which should have been impactful seems rushed and unconvincing. The romantic subplots, though well-conceived are underutilized and overshadowed by less compelling elements.
Verdict:
“Committee Kurrollu” is a mediocre youthful drama that starts strong but loses its way halfway through. Despite decent performances and a few nostalgic moments, the film’s lack of a gripping narrative and its predictable plot make it a forgettable watch. It’s the kind of movie you watch on a weekend when you have nothing better to do.
Bottom Line:
If you enjoy watching the same old routine drama with a side of nostalgia, “Committee Kurrollu” is the perfect movie to put you to sleep.
