Citadel: Did you know why Samantha was not interested?
Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently opened up about her challenges while filming Raj and DK’s action-thriller Citadel: Honey Bunny. Following her diagnosis with myositis, Samantha was uncertain about continuing her role in the series. During an interview with Galatta India, she revealed that she even asked the directors to replace her. She admitted to feeling too unwell to complete the project and recommended other actresses for the role, believing they could perform better given her health condition.
Despite her concerns, Raj and DK did not replace Samantha, encouraging her to continue. Reflecting on her experience, she expressed her gratitude for being part of the series and finding the strength to complete the role. Samantha said she was proud of herself for pushing through the difficult moments, regardless of the show’s outcome.
Samantha’s acting career spans a wide variety of roles. She made her debut with Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and gained recognition in Telugu cinema with Ye Maaya Chesave, opposite Naga Chaitanya. Her fame skyrocketed across India after her appearance in the song Oo Antava in Pushpa: The Rise. Samantha has since appeared in multiple notable films, including Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal and Yashoda. Her recent work in the Telugu romantic-comedy Kushi has also garnered attention. She made her Hindi series debut with Raj and DK’s The Family Man Season 2, portraying a negative character.
Citadel: Honey Bunny, featuring Varun Dhawan alongside Samantha, is set to release on November 7, 2024. This action-packed series also includes prominent actors like Kay Kay Menon, Sikandar Kher, and Simran Bagga in pivotal roles.
