The issue sparked by Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan’s sexist comments aimed at star heroine Trisha Krishnan during a press event is gaining momentum. Each passing day witnesses a growing public outcry. Trisha strongly criticized his remarks and announced her decision to never collaborate with him again. Megastar Chiranjeevi has now joined in and responded to this controversy.
“My attention was drawn to some reprehensible comments made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan about Trisha. The comments are distasteful and disgusting not just for an Artiste but for any woman or girl. These comments must be condemned in the strongest words. They reek of perversion. I stand with @trishtrashers and every woman who has to be subject to such horrid comments,” tweeted Chiranjeevi.
However, Mansoor’s issued statement did not contain an apology, which added more fire to the controversy. The situation has escalated, prompting the intervention of the National Commission for Women (NCW).
The NCW has taken proactive notice of the matter and instructed the Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP) to apply IPC Section 509 B and other applicable laws against Mansoor Ali Khan due to his offensive comments.
