Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna skip TFI meet with Revanth Reddy: Here’s why
The Telugu film industry (TFI) today gathered to meet Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to address several pressing issues. While many top stars, directors and producers attended the meeting, the absence of senior actors Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna has raised questions among fans and media alike.
Reports suggest several reasons behind their absence. First, CM Revanth Reddy’s administration has taken strict action against illegal constructions targeting properties linked to certain film personalities. For instance, parts of Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre were demolished due to unauthorized construction. Similarly reports claim that marking around Balakrishna’s property upset him leading to his decision to skip the meeting.

As for Chiranjeevi, his absence seems to stem from a different issue. In the past when similar industry problems arose Chiranjeevi was criticized for meeting Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. A viral video of him standing submissively before the CM sparked backlash from fans who felt it was demeaning. This incident might have influenced Chiranjeevi’s choice to avoid the current meeting with Telangana’s CM to prevent further controversies.
The absence of these two giants has fueled rumors and debates. Some industry insiders believe they avoided the meeting to steer clear of potential conflicts or media scrutiny. Despite their absence, the meeting proceeded with discussions about the challenges faced by the Telugu film industry, including regulations, infrastructure and support for upcoming projects.
