Chhaava Telugu box office day 1 collection

Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s historical action drama Chhaava has made a remarkable impact at the box office. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film is based on the novel Chhaava by Shivaji Sawant. The story revolves around Sambhaji, the successor of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his battle to uphold the Maratha legacy against the Mughals.

The film has already crossed ₹500 crore in India and ₹675 crore worldwide within three weeks. With no major competition in theaters, Chhaava continues to perform strongly. Seeing its popularity, Geetha Arts acquired the Telugu dubbing rights. The film was released in Telugu on March 7 across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in over 550 theaters, generating significant buzz.

Chhaava is among the highest-grossing films of 2025. Initially, it was expected to clash with Pushpa 2: The Rule, but the latter’s release was postponed to February 14. This allowed Chhaava to dominate the box office. The film’s Telugu version collected around ₹1.7 crore on its opening day, while its theatrical rights were reportedly sold for ₹3 crore.

The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, and several other talented actors. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. Saurabh Goswami handled cinematography, while Manish Pradhan worked as the editor.

With its strong opening, Chhaava is expected to continue its successful run across regions.
