A casting director, Ravindranath Ghosh, was awarded life imprisonment for raping a 23-year-old aspiring actor-model. The Mumbai court ordered the accused to pay a fine of Rs 1.31 lakh of which Rs 1 lakh goes to the victim while the remaining 31 thousand will be deposited to the court.
According to reports, the victim met accused in 2011 after knowing that he was a casting director. When she approached for auditions he asked her to give work seeking sexual favours. After knowing his discreet intentions she avoided him. However, in 2012 he called the victim to Madh Island stating that he is changed but in the pretext, he raped her and clicked her naked pictures. Later, he circulated the picture to his employer and her husband. Following which she filed a case against him.
