Buddy OTT:Allu Sirish’s recent movie Buddy is set to release on OTT this month. The film, directed by Sam Anton, initially hit theaters on August 2 but unfortunately failed to make an impact at the box office. Despite its lackluster performance, the movie’s digital rights were acquired by Netflix.

Netflix India South shared a poster of Buddy on their social media, announcing that the film will be available on their platform starting August 30. The movie will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. In the post, Netflix teased viewers with a creative caption: “Have you ever seen a lion, tiger, or leopard turn back when challenged? Now, see what happens when an enraged teddy bear takes on injustice. #Buddy is coming to Netflix on August 30 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada!”

In Buddy, Allu Sirish plays the lead role of Aditya Ram, while Gayatri Bhardwaj stars as Pallavi, an air traffic controller. The plot takes a twist when Pallavi falls into a coma after a severe accident, and a group of doctors conspires to sell her organs to a trafficking syndicate. However, her soul ends up inhabiting a teddy bear named Buddy, who becomes a crucial part of the story. Aditya Ram meets Buddy, and together, they set out on a mission to save Pallavi from the criminals. The film’s unusual storyline didn’t resonate well with audiences or critics, contributing to its poor performance.

Notably, Buddy is a remake of the Tamil movie Teddy.

In addition to Buddy, Allu Sirish has starred in several films over the years, including Urvasivo Rakshasivo, Kotha Janta, Gouravam, Srirastu Subhamastu, and Okka Kshanam. He is also known as the brother of popular actor Allu Arjun, who is eagerly awaiting the release of his highly anticipated film Pushpa 2.
