For those of you who missed out on watching Mammootty’s new film in the theatres last month, you can soon catch it at your home.
SonyLIV announced the upcoming release of the Malayalam dark fantasy horror thriller, Bramayugam, starring the iconic Mammootty. Scheduled to premiere on March 15th, the film promises a unique cinematic experience, described as a black and white masterpiece filled with mystery and horror.

Co-produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, Bramayugam features a stellar cast, including Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Manikandan R. Achari. Following its theatrical release on February 15, the film received widespread acclaim for Mammootty’s outstanding performance and its technical brilliance.
Bramayugam marks the first collaboration between Mammootty and director Rahul Sadasivan, known for “Bhoothakalam.” The movie introduces three main characters: Mammootty as Kodumon Potti, Arjun Ashokan as Thevan, and Sidharth Bharathan as Potti’s cook. Additionally, there are cameo appearances by Amalda Liz and Manikandan Achari.
The story revolves around Arjun Ashokan’s character, who accidentally ends up staying at Kodumon Potti’s ancestral house. The film explores caste politics and superiority in the 17th Century, cleverly intertwining folktales and reality to create a captivating horror experience. The black and white cinematography enhances the eerie atmosphere.
Looking ahead, Mammootty is set to appear in Bazooka, Turbo, and Kadugannawa Oru Yatra. His recent role in Mahi V Raghav’s political drama, Yatra 2, showcased his versatility as he reprised the character of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
