Boyapati’s strategy of selling old wine in a new bottle has boomeranged this time. Not only the output of Vinaya Vidheya Rama very bad, the credibility of Mega family too got badly damaged. The image that Cherry has built for himself too has gone down the drain. What more, memes, satires galore flooding the Internet are doing considerable damage to the film.
Boyapati is known for his judicious mix of action and family emotions. Barring an occasional film, most of his films were huge hits. Despite being predictable, the films have managed to do well and there was a belief that he has his finger on the pulse of the audience. But, all that has taken a hard hit with this film. Cherry too believed that Boyapati will churn out a mega-hit for him like he gave Sarrainodu to Bunny.
But, VVR failed to make a mark because of the over-hyping of the hero and villain. Also, people did not like the on-screen blood and gore. Even the stunt and action scenes were a drag. As a result, from the very first show, negative talk spread and even the family audience did not like the movie. At this rate, the film might do well only in the C centres.
