Boney Kapoor plans Sridevi’s last movie sequel Mom 2 with THIS actress in lead
Producer Boney Kapoor has revealed his plans to make a sequel to Mom, the last film of legendary actress Sridevi. He wants to cast his daughter Khushi Kapoor in the lead role carrying forward her mother’s legacy.
During the IIFA 2025 celebrations, Boney Kapoor expressed his admiration for both his daughters, Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor stating that they are working hard to reach the same level of excellence as their mother. He mentioned that after No Entry, he is planning a film with Khushi and it could be Mom 2.
Released in 2017, Mom was directed by Ravi Udyawar and featured Sridevi in a powerful role. The film earned her a National Award for Best Actress posthumously. If the sequel happens, it will be a significant project for Khushi as she steps into a role inspired by her mother’s legacy.
Apart from Mom 2, Boney Kapoor also shared updates on the much-anticipated sequel to the 2005 comedy film No Entry. The film’s pre-production has already started, and casting is in progress. He mentioned that multiple leading actresses will be part of the project and their names will be officially announced once finalized.
No Entry directed by Anees Bazmee was a major hit starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan along with Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta and Esha Deol. The sequel is expected to bring the same level of entertainment to audiences.
