In a shocking development, renowned Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan died in the early hours of Friday. As per reports, her health worsened on Thursday and she passed away due to cardiac arrest at 1.52 am on July 3. She aged 71 at the time of her demise. The news has come as a shock to the film fraternity and her fans. Incidentally, she is another popular figure that Bollywood has lost after the tragic demise of Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Wajid Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput.
Saroj Khan had hit the headlines on June 17 where she was hospitalized after she complained of breathing problems. She was rushed to Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai’s Bandra. In fact, rumours spread like a wildfire that she had contracted COVID. To shut down the gossip mongers her daughter Sukaina Khan took to Instagram stating that her mother is recuperating and got admitted due to breathless adding she tested negative for coronavirus. On June 24, a source had said, “She is under observation but is doing fine. She is much better. She shall be discharged soon”.
In a career spanning over four decades, she has over 2,000 songs to her credit. Her most memorable choreographed songs include Dola Re Dola from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, Ek Do Teen from Madhuri Dixit-starrer Tezaab and Ye Ishq Haaye from Jab We Met in 2007 among others. She also had bagged three National Awards.
