Bollywood actor Govinda shot by his own gun, rushed to hospital

Bollywood actor Govinda, aged 60, suffered an accidental bullet injury at his Mumbai home on Tuesday. The incident occurred while he was preparing for a trip to Kolkata early in the morning. As per reports, Govinda was handling his licensed revolver when it slipped from his hands and discharged, injuring his leg. Fortunately, he was quickly rushed to Criticare Hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. His condition is stable, and he is out of danger.

Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, explained that the actor was about to leave for his Kolkata trip when the accident took place around 4:45 am. While placing the revolver in a cupboard, it accidentally fired, leading to the injury. Sinha reassured fans that the injury was not life-threatening and credited God’s grace for the actor’s recovery.

Govinda, a renowned Bollywood actor and a former Congress Member of Parliament (MP), has been in the limelight for several decades. He began his acting career in the late 1980s and is famous for his versatility, moving from action and drama films to becoming one of the top comedy stars of the 1990s. He is known for his impeccable comic timing, dance moves, and smooth dialogue delivery, making him a fan favorite. Some of his most successful films include Coolie No.1, Hero No.1, Dulhe Raja, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Jodi No. 1.

In addition to his acting career, Govinda also pursued a political career. He was elected to Parliament in 2004 as a Congress representative. Recently, he switched political allegiance by joining the Shiv Sena.

The actor’s fans are relieved to know that he is recovering well from the injury, and his incident has not caused any major complications.
