Twitter had crackdown by discarding profiles of suspicious activity including inactive ones which had affected on the profiles of celebrities with the reduction of followers on their profile. From Amitabh Bachchan to Priyanka Chopra to Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone among other celebrities, who ended up losing lakh of Twitter followers.
Twitter Sanitisation Results In Followers Depletion
Big B lost 424,000, while Shah Rukh Khan’s followers got down over 362,141 and Priyanka Chopra lost 354,888 followers. Earlier, micro-blogging site issued a statement, ” Most people will see a change of four followers or fewer; others with larger follower counts will experience a more significant drop. We understand this may be hard for some, but we believe accuracy and transparency will make Twitter a more trusted service for public conversation.”
Celebrities like Divya Dutta, Onir and Apurva Asrani had reacted to losing their Twitter followers.
