Celebrated South Indian megastar Chiranjeevi recently marked his birthday, and right before that, his latest movie, “Bholaa Shankar”, hit theatres. Shockingly, the film tanked at the box office, failing to leave a mark on its opening day.
Unfortunately, the movie has become a financial loss for the producers and another unfortunate flop for director Meher Ramesh. The individual bearing the brunt of this outcome is none other than the megastar himself, Chiranjeevi, who has faced intense criticism for his selection of scripts.
Adding to the surprise, a Northern presenter initially announced that the movie would release on August 25. However, the audience in the North exhibited zero interest in the film, and thanks to their discernment, the presenter pulled the plug on the Hindi release of “Bholaa Shankar.”
Certain Telugu netizens took to platforms like Twitter and Instagram to convey that this could be divine intervention, sparing the North from what they deem the worst movie ever made by Chiranjeevi. Nonetheless, some came to Chiranjeevi’s defence, asserting that it’s not solely his responsibility, but Meher Ramesh’s lacklustre storyline and flawed execution resulted in the film’s downfall.
Irrespective of the reasons, the Hindi version of the movie never took flight, fortunately sparing North audiences from the ordeal. Sooner or later, the film will likely find its way to the Hindi audience through YouTube. Only then will we truly understand the reaction of the North Indian viewers to the movie.
