Bhimaa, starring Gopichand and Malavika Sharma, hit the screens on March 8th, coinciding with Shiva Rathri. However, the movie failed to leave a mark, adding to Gopichand’s string of box office disappointments. Despite its high technical standards and impressive VFX, Bhimaa didn’t resonate with the audience as expected.
The digital rights for Bhimaa were secured by Disney+Hotstar, with plans to stream it across languages. As per industry sources this Gopichand film will be available on their official OTT platform from 5th April, 2024.
Meanwhile during the reelase, the film faced tough competition from Gaami, starring Vishwak Sen, and the dubbed Malayalam hit, Premalu. Premalu, in particular, garnered unanimous praise and emerged as the top choice among viewers, grossing an impressive 15 Crores worldwide in its Telugu version alone.
This success of Premalu dealt a blow to both Bhimaa and Gaami’s box office prospects. Nonetheless, Gopichand remains undeterred as he gears up for his next project under Srinu Vaitla’s direction, which has already been officially launched.
Bhimaa boasts a star-studded cast, with Malavika Sharma and Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female leads, along with renowned actors like Mukesh Tiwari, Vennela Kishore, and others in pivotal roles. The film’s music, composed by Ravi Basrur, adds to its appeal, complemented by Swami J Gowda’s cinematography and Ramana Vanka’s production design. Notably, the fight sequences, choreographed by Ram-Lakshman, Venkat, and Dr. Ravivarma, enhance the overall cinematic experience.
While Bhimaa may not have achieved the desired success, its technical finesse and star cast make it worth a watch for fans of action-packed dramas.
