Former Team India captain Mohammed Azharuddin has got elected as the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president. Azharuddin won the post with a huge vted with over 73 votes difference from his contenders.

A total of 223 votes were cast, while Azhar had 147 votes. Along with him, Dilip Kumar and Prakash Chand Jain contested for the HCA election. Incidentally, former president of HCA, G Vivek has lent his support to Prakash. While the news comes as a great joy for Azharudding, he was disappointed when his nomination for the presidency of the HCA was rejected two years ago.
