Arvind Kejriwal deliberately eating mangoes to get bail, claims ED
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, is in the spotlight again, but this time for his health and bail controversy. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently claimed that Kejriwal, who has diabetes, was deliberately consuming foods high in sugar to raise his blood sugar levels and seek bail on medical grounds. Let’s delve deeper into this issue.
Kejriwal, who is currently under judicial custody in Tihar jail due to a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy, sought doctor consultation regarding his fluctuating blood sugar levels. However, the ED alleged that he was consuming mangoes, sweets, tea with sugar, and other high-sugar foods regularly, despite being aware of his diabetic condition. The ED suggested that Kejriwal was intentionally spiking his blood sugar levels to create a medical emergency and gain sympathy from the court for bail.
In response, Kejriwal’s lawyer refuted these claims, stating that the chief minister was only consuming what had been prescribed by his doctors. The lawyer accused the ED of creating an issue to prevent Kejriwal from having home-cooked meals. The court intervened by requesting a report on Kejriwal’s prescribed diet to verify the allegations.
The controversy has sparked debates about Kejriwal’s health condition, his dietary habits, and the legality of seeking bail on medical grounds. While the ED argues that Kejriwal’s actions are a ploy to manipulate the judicial system, his supporters maintain that he is entitled to proper medical care and treatment, especially given his diabetic condition.
Meanwhile, amidst the legal proceedings, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been calling for Kejriwal’s resignation as the Chief Minister of Delhi. However, Kejriwal remains steadfast in his position, continuing to hold office despite the ongoing controversy.
