When an owner of a media channel colludes with a police commissioner of a city police this is what happens. To get a spike in viewership, India Today had resorted to TRP manipulation but the Mumbai police held a press conference and levelled allegations on Republic TV. Within hours Param Bir Singh became a laughing stock when Arnab Goswami exposed the lies; India Today was named in the FIR and not Republic TV. The reporter of Republic was arrested but no action was taken on India Today.
The Hansa research report accessed by Republic Media Network names India Today several times and lays bare shocking details of alleged TRP manipulation. India Today wanted to hide this report from going public. Hansa then verified the claims by visiting panel homes, of which it has shared details in the report, including WhatsApp conversations where persons name India Today as well. Arnab Goswami now wants an interview with India Today’s Arun Purie who is not available for comment. Meanwhile Hansa spells out clearly the impact of the malpractice, and how they entail a ‘criminal act’.
