Actor Arjun Kapoor and his partner Malaika Arora were tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the day. In the event of many film personalities falling in the same line, the entertainment industry needs to rethink if resuming shoots is necessary after all. Arjun Kapoor was all set to shoot for a romantic comedy with Rakul Preet Singh later this month and it’s inevitable that the team will be forced to push their schedule behind.
“It is my duty to inform all of you that I have tested positive for coronavirus. I’m feeling ok and I’m asymptomatic. I have isolated myself at home under the advice of doctors and authorities and will be under home quarantine. I thank you all in advance for your support and I will keep you all updated about my health in the days to come. These are extraordinary and unprecedented times and I have faith that all of humanity will overcome this virus. Much love, Arjun,” the actor had shared in a post across social media.
While the recovery rate for the virus close to 80 per cent is promising in India, the risks of shooting for projects have only multiplied. Earlier in the week, a few members shooting for a Jacqueline Fernandes project also had tested positive. There are talks of theatres being reopened in such an extraordinary situation too. Is there any alternative in store?
