In less than a week, we will know who the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh will be. The current Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is seeking a second term, while his opponent, Chandrababu Naidu, hopes to return to power. By 2 PM on June 4th, the picture will become clearer.
According to Andhra Pradesh Election Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena, vote counting in 111 constituencies will be finished by 2 PM. These constituencies will undergo 20 rounds of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) counting.
Once the results from these 111 constituencies are in, it will be easier to predict which party is likely to form the government. The party that gains an early lead will have a better chance of reaching the required majority of 88 seats.
By 4 PM, counting in another 61 constituencies is expected to be completed. These constituencies have 21 to 24 rounds of counting. The final three constituencies, which have more than 25 rounds of counting, may take a bit longer.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) indicated that the complete results of the Andhra Pradesh polls would be available by 8 or 9 PM on June 4th.
The vote counting process will begin at 8 AM, starting with the postal ballots.
