Animal directed by filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, recently earned a lot of money worldwide, around Rs 850 crore. However, the movie’s length, which is 3 hours and 21 minutes, which significantly reduced the number of shows that can be fit into a single day. However, Sandeel Vanga, who also edited the film, admitted regretting cutting an extra nine minutes due to pressure. He shared that the days leading up to the release were tough. “Animal” stars actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor.
In a conversation with film analyst Komal Nahta, Vanga mentioned, “I lost track during the final checks in Chennai due to the film being in five languages. The last 20 days were tough. We even slept in the mixing room for several days. I should’ve stayed longer there.”
Talking about the online version of the film, he explained, “I was fixing some issues with a few shots. I realized I should’ve kept the movie 3 hours and 30 minutes instead of 3 hours and 21 minutes. I don’t know why I cut those extra minutes. Now, I’ll add those extra minutes back.”
During the interview, Sandeep revealed he signed Parineeti Chopra 1.5 years before filming but felt she wasn’t right for the role of Geetanjali.
He admitted, “It’s my fault. Sometimes, certain actors don’t fit specific roles. I don’t believe in auditions; I trust my instincts. I liked her acting from the beginning.”
“I wanted her in ‘Kabir Singh’ as Preeti, but that didn’t work out. So, it was long overdue. I always wished to collaborate with her, and she knew that.” He also mentioned apologizing to her and clarified that the film mattered more.
