Nukavarapu Manisha, hailing from Guntur, was among the four Indians out of 157 passengers killed in Ethiopian Airlines crash on Sunday. The deceased medico was on way to Nairobi to pay a visit to her sister who had delivered three baby boys a few days back. Nukavarapu parents Venkateshwar Rao and Bharathi were staying with their elder daughter itself. Staying in Tennessee, Manisha finished her degree from Guntur Medical College and then went to the US for higher studies.
Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has tweeted in response to the relative of Manisha stating that Indian High Commissioner in Nairobi, Rahul Chhabra, will be providing aid to the deceased parents. Apart from Manisha, other three Indian who died in the air crash were Garg, Vaidya Pannagesh Bhaskar, Vaidya Hansin Annagesh.
“I have spoken to the son of Vaidya in Toronto. I am shocked you have lost six members of your family in air crash. My heartfelt condolences. I have asked Indian Embassy in Kenya and the India Embassy in Ethiopia to reach you immediately. They will provide help and assistance in respect of all your family members.” said Sushma Swaran speaking to the Vaidya family.
