Talk to any secularist, he will say that the Sushant Singh Rajput case is being dragged keeping Bihar elections in mind. Responding to the accusations of using Sushant’s name in the elections, Amit Shah said, “I don’t know how much political issue Sushant Singh Rajput’s case has become but if it is an election issue then we are not the reason for it. If they (Maharashtra State Government) had transferred the case to the CBI in the early days then it would not have been made an election agenda.”
“Questions and suspicion were coming from day 1 after Sushant died. Then why did they hold on to it? It was not us who ordered the CBI inquiry in Sushant’s case but it was the Supreme Court who transferred Sushant’s case to the CBI. We think that whosoever dies mysteriously whether it is Sushant or someone else, the investigation must be done in a proper and neutral manner,” added Amit Shah. On being asked whether he thinks the Mumbai Police closed the case too soon, Amit Shah said, “I don’t want to comment on this as CBI is investigating into this matter and the perception the Maharashtra Government made that time it was not right.”
He said, “It’s a menace that should be eliminated as fast as possible. In the last 18-24 months, several decisions have been taken to curb the problem. I assure you that under Modi ji’s leadership it’s going to be very difficult for people who want to spread drugs. We are making some infrastructural changes and you’ll see changes in coming days. As far as Bollywood is concerned, it’s not wise to connect it to one sector.”
