Sivakarthikeyan’s recent biographical film Amaran, based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, hit theaters on October 31, 2024. This movie was originally planned to premiere on Netflix after a typical 28-day theatrical window. However, due to its ongoing box-office success, Netflix has decided to delay its OTT release by one week to allow the movie to continue drawing audiences in cinemas.

This delay marks a rare occasion where Netflix has pushed back an OTT release for a Tamil film due to strong box-office performance and critical acclaim. This choice highlights the film’s popularity and impact on viewers. Amaran, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, is inspired by the book India’s Most Fearless by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, which narrates the real-life heroism of Major Varadarajan, who gave his life during an anti-terrorism mission. Sivakarthikeyan plays the lead role alongside Sai Pallavi, with other significant roles by actors like Rahul Bose, Bhuvan Arora, and Lallu.

Following Amaran, Sivakarthikeyan is also set to star in another film, tentatively titled SK23, directed by AR Murugadoss, where he will share the screen with Rukmini Vasanth. Music for this action thriller will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Additionally, Sivakarthikeyan announced a new project with director Cibi Chakravarthy, reuniting the team from their successful 2022 film Don for another engaging storyline.

On the other hand, Sai Pallavi will soon appear in Thandel alongside Naga Chaitanya and in the role of Sita in an upcoming film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Ramayana.
