Amaran OTT details are out
Sivakarthikeyan’s latest movie, Amaran, which premiered on October 31, 2024, had an impressive five-week box office run. The film, based on the true story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a soldier who sacrificed his life during an anti-terrorism operation, received critical acclaim from both audiences and critics. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the movie features Sai Pallavi as the female lead and an ensemble cast, including Bhuvan Arora and Rahul Bose.
Reports suggest Amaran will debut on Netflix on December 5, 2024. This OTT release was delayed to maximize its theatrical success, marking an unusual decision by Netflix for a Tamil movie. Official confirmation from the production team or Netflix is still awaited.

Adapted from the book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, the film highlights the bravery of India’s military heroes. It joins the ranks of other Tamil movies like Bagheera and Lucky Baskhar, which also recently premiered on OTT platforms.
Sivakarthikeyan will next feature in projects like SK23 with director AR Murugadoss and SK24 with Cibi Chakravarthy, while Sai Pallavi is set to star in Thandel alongside Naga Chaitanya, releasing in February 2025.
