Allu Arjun is gearing up for his upcoming release Pushpa 2: The Rule in 2024. Amidst the anticipation surrounding the sequel, the actor shared exciting plans to turn Pushpa into a franchise, hinting at a possible third installment. In an interview at the Berlin International Film Festival, Allu Arjun expressed, “You can definitely expect part three; we do want to make it a franchise, and we have exciting ideas for the lineup.”
When asked about his role in the upcoming project, he said, “Pushpa2 is going to have a very different shade of Pushpa Raj than what you’ve seen in Pushpa because it’s the lower end of the spectrum that you’ve seen. In Pushpa The Rule you’ll see the highest end of the spectrum in terms of characterisation. In terms of scale and presentation & the canvas of problems is going to be much bigger.”
The Pushpa franchise began with the 2021 blockbuster, Pushpa: The Rise, written and directed by Sukumar. The film achieved tremendous success at the box office. Currently, the shooting for Pushpa 2 is in progress, having faced a temporary halt in November 2023 due to Allu Arjun’s health concerns, but subsequently resumed.
Allu Arjun had previously unveiled the first-look poster of Pushpa 2, portraying himself in a unique avatar with a saree and vibrant face paint. The excitement further intensified with the release of Fahadh Faasil’s look poster. Fans are now eagerly anticipating the reveal of Rashmika Mandanna’s character in the movie.
Few days back, Rashmika Mandanna, who plays a significant role in Pushpa 2, teased fans by sharing that the film would be “bigger” than its predecessor. She expressed the cast and crew’s commitment to meeting the high expectations set by the first film, highlighting the dedication to delivering an outstanding cinematic experience. Rashmika Mandanna hinted at the expansive nature of the storyline, stating, “It’s a story that has no end; you can lead it any which way. It is fun.”
With Pushpa 2: The Rule scheduled for a theatrical release on August 15, 2024, fans can anticipate another immersive chapter in the Pushpa franchise, as Allu Arjun and the team aim to surpass the success of the first film and build on the intriguing narrative they have established.
