In order to expand his market across the country, Kannada star hero Sudeep decided to release his latest film Pailwaan in multiple languages. After heavy promotions, the film was released yesterday in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. It opened big in Kannada due to Sudeep’s stardom.
But the film failed to collect well in any other languages. Despite having decent popularity in the Telugu circuit, Pailwaan failed to generate good collections at the box office. The situation in the northern belt is, even more, worse as the movie didn’t get a share of one crore on the release day.
The age-old story and the lacklustre narration made the film a boring affair. On the whole, Sudeep’s attempt to reach out to the pan-Indian audience in a lead role has bombed badly and might end up the distributors in heavy losses.
