Actor, comedian Ali who had done a handful of popular films as a male lead before he stuck to humorous roles, is returning to his roots again. Mookambika Productions is coming up with a courtroom drama being directed by V Bala Nageswara Rao, in which Ali plays an advocate. It’s important to reinvent oneself from time to time and guess Ali has realised it at the need of the hour. MNU Sudhakar, Suryavantharam, V Nageswar Rao are jointly producing the film.
Interestingly, the film that features Nia as the female lead also marks the debut of Ali’s daughter, Juweria. Maa Ganganadi’s trailer was released recently. “Generally, a guest celebrity is expected to release the trailer of an upcoming film. But, given the extraordinary situation that we are stuck amidst, I have to be my own guest for this trailer release. I wanted my children and wife to be proud of me when they see my film on the screen, just like how my mom used to enjoy my films (as a hero) in the past. I’m confident of this film. Though Maa Ganganadi was ready before lockdown, several formalities got delayed owing to the lockdown. I’m hopeful that spectators will be appreciative of our efforts,” Ali is hopeful.
The filmmaker Bala Nageswara Rao who has also written the story and the screenplay for the same, feels that Maa Ganganadi would hold a mirror to the several problems being faced by women across the country today. Sunil Kashyap has composed music for the film, for which Praveen Vanamali is the cinematographer.
