“Telugu people are sentimental fools,” as the famous dialogue of Chiranjeevi goes in the movie ‘Tagore’. Telugu cinema is blindly driven by a belief system.
Since the success rate is quite less, people in the industry are very particular about following good omens/positive sentiments which they believe bring good luck in changing their fortunes.
Now it seems that the ‘Agent’ team is also treading the same path. The poster of Akhil holding a machine gun as if he is creating havoc – is the new sentiment that the team is harping on.
Films with such gun-trotting posters have become blockbusters in recent times. Take the example of Karthi’s ‘Khaidhi’, the famous poster of him holding a gun. Even Superstar Kamal Haasan holding the old-machine gun caused a blitzkrieg in ‘Vikram’.
Not to forget the blitzkrieg of Rocky Bhai in ‘KGF Franchise’ was a massive hit. Even Megastar Chiranjeevi too wielded a machine gun in ‘Waltair Veerayya’. Now the makers of ‘Agent’ want to project such posters to bring luck. However, such sentiments would finally fall flat if the content doesn’t impress audiences.
