Vijay’s recent release did decent business at the box office. Tamil version Mersal did tremendous business after Baahubali-The Conclusion at the Tamil Nadu Box office.
Total collections of Tamil Mersal were Rs 250 Cr. The Tamil version was released on 18 October but Telugu Adirindhi got postponed for GST Issues and Digital India.
According to sources, Vijay’s Adirindhi has incurred Rs 60 Cr loss. Before the movie hits the screens it was everywhere in the news so the filmmakers have thought to could fetch good revenue from Telugu people. But, it has turned to be a huge disaster in his career.
Vijay is seen playing triples as a doctor, a villager and a magician where he had entertained the Tamil audience failed to impress telugu people.
Kajal, Samantha and Nithya Mene were seen in the lead roles opposite to Vijay in the film.
On the professional front, Vijay has signed his next flick with AR Murugadoss which is set to go floors by end of December.
