Acharya vs. Devara: Jr. NTR’s words spark debate among fans
After a six-year break, Jr. NTR is set to make a comeback with Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, on the 27th of this month. The film carries high expectations, as fans anticipate a blockbuster. Koratala Siva, known for delivering hits like Mirchi, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, and Bharat Ane Nenu, saw a dip in his career with the failure of Acharya. This has put extra pressure on Devara to perform well at the box office.
At the Devara trailer launch in Mumbai, Jr. NTR praised Koratala Siva, stating, “My respect for Siva has only increased over time. He has always had cinema in his mind and has been dedicated to his work. Despite the failure of Acharya, he continues to make good films.” NTR added, “Give him the right people and the right time, and he will deliver excellent movies.”
However, his comments stirred controversy among fans, especially those of the Mega family. Some interpreted his words as a veiled reference to the challenges Siva faced during Acharya, sparking a debate about whether the right environment existed for the director to succeed back then.

Mega fans questioned if Siva lacked the right people or support during Acharya, while Jr. NTR’s fans argued that the director faced undue pressure during that project. This led to a war of words on social media, with fans defending their favorite stars. As Devara nears its release, all eyes are on whether the film can meet expectations and help Koratala Siva redeem his reputation after the flop of Acharya.
Meanwhile, early reviews from the Censor Board have been positive, particularly praising NTR’s performance and the film’s intense climax, raising hopes for a successful release.
