Shankar’s 2.0 that hit the screen across India on November 29 has recorded a massive first-day opening. The film reportedly as per trade analyst Ramesh Bala has minted Rs 100 crores at the worldwide box-office collection. Meanwhile, in Chennai alone, it has minted over Rs 2 crore on day one.

Ramesh Bala tweet reads, “#2Point0 has grossed more than ₹ 100 Crs at the WW Box Office on Day 1.. #Superstar @rajinikanth and @akshaykumar ‘s Highest Opener till date. All-time No.2 Opening for an Indian Movie behind #Baahubali2”. However, the sci-fi failed to dethrone Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 that earned Rs 122 crore on day one.
On the other side, trade tracker Taran Adarsh tweet saying, “”Non-holiday release… Non-festival period… Yet, #2Point0 takes a SUPER START… Keeping in mind the fact that it’s a dubbed film + advance bookings opened very late, the biz is STRONG… Thu ? 20.25 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version. (sic)”.

2.0 is made on a mammoth budget of Rs 540 crore and got screened across 10,000 screens worldwide, while in India it is being screened in 6,800 screens.
